Five firefighters were injured in a fire in northern California’s Rices.
The CAL FIRE Nevada Yuba Placer Unit said the fire in Nevada County has spread to more than 904 acres of brush and wood flooring.
It was at 10% on Wednesday, with high entry making it difficult.
With the Grass Valley Air Base Station downing more than 80,000 gallons of firefighting on that day alone, power outages were reported in the area, and there was damage to communication cables.

CAL FIRE said the roads were closed, and the Nevada district commissioner wrote that all evacuation orders and warnings were still in place.

The fire started Tuesday afternoon – the cause of which is under investigation – California communities in Birchville, Sweetland, French Corral, Bridgeport, Rices Crossin and the Buttermilk area were ordered to evacuate.
