A mudslide in California has left multiple vehicles stuck in a flow of mud and debris, fire officials said.
Fire units responded to the mud to help about 50 people in about twenty cars. The mud reportedly pushed vehicles across the road.
The landslide happened near Pine Canyon Road between Shaffer Road and Blaisdell Road, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said in a tweet.

As announced by the department, the units arrived at the scene around 19:40. to free vehicles that cannot escape the flow of mud and debris.

Some people were rescued by firefighters on the ground, and others were airlifted to safety by Los Angeles Fire Department helicopters, according to the LAFD.

Southbound Lake Hughes Road south of Elizabeth Lake Road and other roads in the area are closed due to mudslides.
The incident was still active, according to fire officials.
